HISTORIC GNOMES

ORIGINALS & RESTORATION

Here you find an overview about the gnomes we restore and sell at the moment or those we have sold last year. All the gnomes we sell are restored or repainted. The paint is our special profession and most of the times our figures look better and more alive than the originals, because we are not in a hurry. You can purchase them here in the shop and at ebay too.

We can do most restoration jobs, even replace lost parts like arms or legs in original ceramic.

Large Balzer & Bock ~1930

Here we go - Rare Heissner Brothers

These Heissner gnomes look like twins, but they are different. The second one is much older, a little biger and stands free without the rock between the legs, like the frontman has. The shoulders of this chap are remodelled too. The Size is 70 x 52 cm / 27.5" x 20.5" The gnome is modelled at 1910. The toadstools are especially made for this ensemble, which is absolutely unique. Completely ceramic. Gnomes restored.

Complete restoration

We cleaned the gnome from several old layers of color and repainted the figure in the traditional style and at the highest level of the Maresch manufactories.
The result of my restoration is normally on a higher level than the originals, because we are not in a hurry and we do not work in an assembly-line :-)

This gnome was restored in 2016 and sold to a collector in Virginia/USA.

Large tipsy gnome, approx. 1900, Austria, approx 29"

Unknown manufactor

I found this gnome in Bavaria, south of Munich. The chap had a lot of old repairs and some layers of old colours. This gnome is not really restorable, but we decided to reproduce the figure. We will get the molds for ceramic cast in the next few weeks.
